The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in Malayalam is an animated feature film that is based on the novel by Vijay Krishna Murthy. This story is told from the point of view of a young girl who tries to save her father from an evil-man who is determined to rob him of his youth. She does this by means of training him to become a well-dressed businessman to protect him from the dastardly plans of the villain.

The movie has been made in the series of the trilogy known as Shanti Parichal. It is the sixth installment of the main series. The story is considered to be a retelling of the Mahabharata. This film was co-produced by legendary filmmaker S.R.Nirvana and famous serial melodrama writer and screenwriter Ashok Kumar.

The director of the Malayalam film in the series, S.R.Nirvana, had made the breakthrough with the well-received film Humare Taluk. The director, however, tried to surpass himself in the Malayalam film-series by making a masterpiece, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Ashok Kumar is responsible for screenplay and visuals. The young actress Lakshmi is also credited for some fabulous roles in this movie.

The story of the film in the series is revolving around King Veerappan, whose kingdom is now ruled by Queen Devadvi (played by Lakshmi). When he falls sick, she gives birth to a boy who seems to be like the baby that came out of the womb of his queen. As a result, King Veerappan decides to give up his throne and give the baby away as a gift to the Brahmins of the world. Though there is a lot of intrigue and turmoil, the baby is brought up as the grandson of Vasantan (played by P. Kumar).

Now in the sixth installment of the series, the viewer finds that the boy's parents have moved to the nearby town where a new king was crowned. There are two sides to the story: the siblings of the baby boy, Kattappa (played by R. Sriram) and a girl named Seetha (played by Muthu). Though the two characters do not appear to be that friendly, the plot of the movie goes on to be about their rivalry.

The background music of the movie was composed by Alok Kumar and choreographed by S.R. Nirvana. The dance numbers in the movie are the most impressive and graceful, with a touch of comedy. Some of the actresses also portray the role of children in this movie.

For the first time, the opening sequence of the movie in the series is given special attention. The title song is performed by Inayathi (S.R.Nirvana) and featured in the movie for the first time. There are a number of performances and song cycles that are featured in the movie. Some of the songs include "Taada", "Bada Chhalaadi"Dhumayati".

The songs in the movie have been composed in a beautiful style and music. The dialogues in the movie also have a fair share of humor. It is quite a pity that the movie can't be rated higher, but it is a great Malayalam movie that one can watch and enjoy.
