Interstellar is a great Sci-Fi movie with some amazing visuals. It's a captivating and gripping science fiction movie that takes us into the future and on the journey to our own and it is most certainly one of the best movies of 2020.
Interstellar is the first in a series of upcoming movie review I'm doing on Space Movies in the month of December so look for my reviews for "Men in Black III", "Men in Black II"Men in Black" in the next few weeks. Be sure to check back and I'll post some upcoming review on future Space Movies.
The movie takes place in the year 2120, about four decades after the end of the movie Interstellar and it focuses on a detective story set on a space station. By the end of the movie we see the story to branch out in all directions, introducing a mystery involving the past of one of the characters.
In the movie you have a view of the earth from deep space exploring some deep space exploration of other planets or perhaps a derelict space ship from some future civilization. Whatever the case, a mysterious scientist, played by Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), discovers a new type of energy and creates a matter and antimatter reaction that make the matter and antimatter acts like they're in each other's grasp.
What I found most interesting thing about this movie was it's use of an old sci-fi concept. In addition to an energy source, and perhaps living creatures, there is also a need for a way to store energy. Through the intergalactic mail, this method was explored, making it possible for people to travel to far places, perhaps not as far as in the original Interstellar, but traveling somewhere very close.
Something even better about the movie is that we don't know what happened to the planet X in the time before the birth of mankind, and how could they not be able to figure out that the natives of that planet lived in a different location in an alternate reality, which could happen in Interstellar? I'd love to see this movie because it takes the original concept and goes even further in to a much more fantastic version, which most likely will bring a new chapter to the movie trilogy.
John De Nihl (cinematographer) did a wonderful job in Interstellar and was able to take an idea and let it shine, while staying true to the original concept of the movie. With the use of the Interstellar mail system in the movie, De Nihl would have been able to let his imaginations go wild with a variety of scenes of what would happen if these three characters were on a space station that visited planets with the threat of life or new species. Letting him think in his movies, De Nihl created something special in Interstellar.
Overall, this movie was great and I liked the first two movies in the series, but it's a little hard to catch up on the continuity and we're showing a lot of details and events that the characters couldn't possibly remember. However, that being said, it doesn't detract from what the film has to offer and it stays true to the original concept.
